Advanced Registry Optimizer Software Review

Advanced Registry Optimizer has been one of the few registry cleaners in recent years to actually make a lasting impression on the market place. It is an impression achieved despite the fact that the registry tool is not necessarily the most professional of looking pieces of software on the market. Looks though are perhaps a secondary consideration compared to the actual thoroughness of a registry cleaner.

The Details of Advanced Registry Optimizer

•  Software Designer – The Advanced Registry Optimizer is another quality product from Sammsoft, a software company that has produced other quality products including Armor and MemTurbo. A well respected company, the fact that Advanced Registry Optimizer comes from Sammsoft does add confidence in the product.

•  Compatibility –Advanced Registry Optimizer has been created and developed to ensure that it will work on Windows 2000and XP.

•   Features and Functions – Although we have tested some registry cleaners that have been good products even though they were devoid of additionally features, we have always felt that many of the best registry cleaners add value to their product through these features. Unfortunately Advanced Registry Optimizer is one of those registry cleaners that is relatively bear when it comes to features.

The Test Results
As with most registry cleaners nowadays, Advanced Registry Optimizer is available to download straight from the internet, and it was from the company’s homepage that we purchased our full copy of the program. Installation was quick and very simple; a process that even a computer novice can follow. Once correctly installed, we then had Advanced Registry Optimizer run a scan of our test machine’s registry. The scan was one of the fastest that we have seen in recent months, and as well as being fast, Advanced Registry Optimizer was also one of the most thorough in its search for errors. The resulting list of errors found of course included all of the major errors that we knew existed, but also picked up the most minor of errors that many inferior cleaners would have missed.

We had to restart our machine after the repair process to find out just how effective Advanced Registry Optimizer had been. The start up process was definitely faster, and the whole processing speed of our computer was much faster than it had been for many months.

Additional Observations

We were disappointed by the lack of features that are included within Advanced Registry Optimizer. Despite the fact that there is a backup and undo feature, we strongly believe that this is the bare minimum that any reputable registry cleaner should have. We have of course tested products that have included features that have not added any value to their product, just rehashing features that are available within the Windows operating system. At the same time though the best programs included features that help with the defrag and compression of the Windows registry and this enhance the processing speed of Windows.

Overall Impressions

We have given Advanced Registry Optimizer one of our highest marks based solely on the results of the scan and repair process. We have though still rated less effective than RegCure from ParetoLogic partially due to the fact that we still believe it is not quite as thorough as it could be, and also the fact is that it is let down by the features that are missing from the package, where we would have like to have seen compression and defrag tools.
